The Eva and Marc Besen Centre designed by KTA Architects is the latest addition to the TarraWarra Museum of Art precinct. Conceived as a national centre for learning with visible art storage of a significant art collection of paintings and sculptures, it also offers light filled spaces for performances, workshops and special events including the annual festival with the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Established in 2003, the Museum and its collection of 600 artworks were gifted to the nation by its founders and renowned philanthropists, the late Eva Besen AO and Marc Besen AC, who over seven decades collected the works of artists who shaped the development of modern art in Australia.
Paoli Smith delivered the signage system for the new building and the Museum precinct including entrance signage, building identification, wayfinding as well as regulatory and safety signage.
